We then drive to Rabat, the elegant capital, to view the 12th-century Hassan Tower and the Kasbah of the Udayas. Fes → Middle Atlas → Ziz Valley → Merzouga
We depart the imperial city and climb into the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in the alpine village of Ifrane and the ancient Cedar Forests to spot wild Barbary macaques. Merzouga → Todra Gorges → Dades Valley

We will stop to hike through the spectacular Todra Gorges, where sheer limestone cliffs rise 300 meters above the river. In the afternoon, we continue into the lush, fig-filled Dades Valley, known for its incredible rock formations. We will check into a luxury riad nestled in the canyon for the evening.
